_ People always refer to themselves as being either morning people or night time people. I personally have never met anyone who is happy to get out of bed in the morning, and certainly not in my family, even though I know that they must exist. My father always wakes up fresh but even he would rather like to stay in bed. I have to get up ridiculously early in order to get the children to school on time. I set my alarm a little early so that I can have the satisfaction of hitting the snooze button and pretend that I have a few more minutes. I use that time to actually get my eyes open and my brain in gear.

These days it is harder to get up since the mornings are so cold and dark and my Hungarian goose down duvetseems to grab me and hold me down like an American football player during a tackle. At times like this I regret stopping at that bed linen sale last month and buying a cheap memory foam mattress and some Hungarian goose down pillows, since the comfort that they provide make it even more difficult for me to leave my bed.

Early morning starts have always been a problem for me mainly because I do not manage to get to bed early and when I do eventually fall asleep, my sleep is often disturbed and I wake up feeling groggy and feeling as though I have had no rest at all. For the past couple of months, this problem has gotten steadily worse due to some disturbances in the home which have caused me to have trouble sleeping.

A lot of people resort to taking medication in times of stress in order to be able to function properly and to help them get off to sleep. For some reason I have never taken this route and I think that this aversion to medication could stem from a childhood fear or maybe from having seen my mother taking a lot of medicine for all of her life, for various ailments. Whatever the reason, I always try to find an alternative solution to any problems that I encounter as I go through life.

For a good night’s sleep it is essential that your mind is relaxed as well as your body, otherwise you will find that your brain will remain as active as it has been all day, throughout the night, and you will end up tossing and turning underneath your Hungarian goose down duvet. The best way to handle sleeping problems is to try and deal with whatever the actual problem is or at least try to relax and clear your mind before you get in to bed. A warm bath and a hot milky drink are a popular method of relaxing before bed as is listening to soft music and light reading. Avoid caffeine, alcohol and heavy spicy meals just before you go to bed.

_ We often have to travel a lot as it is a requirement with most of the jobs these days and also because it has become impossible not to travel to meet relatives who live at distant areas. Transportation has become so easy these days that a person can hardly ever use this excuse for not visiting. There was a time people dreaded the fact that they had to travel and were easily forgiven if they did not make it on an occasion be it a happy one or sad as people understood the problems one would have to face while travelling. The conditions of travelling were not as good as they are now and people not only had to suffer through the journey they also had to have a lot of money to afford such a trip so if they were not present at some event people would easily let it slide but not now. People expect everyone to be present and a person can hardly argue as the transportation offered these days is very comfortable. People are able to travel to other countries as easily as going to the next city and they face no problems even when they arrive there. The money might be an issue for some people but even they can afford to go to other places once in a while. People like this new found luxury as it allows them to visit the places that they had only once imagined or read about. People look forward to these trips and are even willing to spend a great deal of money on these trips. One thing that has become very easy is for people to stay in contact with each other. This thing is further facilitated by the fact that several airports are now offering car services to help people reach their destinations after they have arrived in the city or country. A lot of people are not aware of the routes and face several problems because of this. Airport limo services allow people to have an easy and safe journey. These car services are ideal for people who want to spend a luxurious time and do not want to be bothered with maps of the city. People are glad that these services are available and make sure that they avail them.

Toronto airport limo service is one of the best services. The clients are always happy and satisfied and the cars that they have are in excellent condition. These cars are ideal for people who belong to the business class as they appear elegant and classy. These cars are also a very safe mean of travelling as the drivers are skilled and the safety of the person is the company’s responsibility. Airport car service Toronto is also a very good way of travelling. The costs are visibly less than the limo service but the luxury is exactly the same.

_ I was talking to an old friend yesterday and we started to talk about memorable scenes from old films. My friend is a dentist and has visited School of Dentalaround the country, giving lectures and talks on the importance of oral hygiene. He actually graduated from an old established school of dental medicine and graduated on one of the two full dental scholarships which were offered at that time. He now teaches at a local School for Dentistry as well as at a Medical College. He was telling me about the scene which he remembers the most as it is related to his line of work.

He said that he had seen the film “Marathon Man” when he was still quite young and that he would never forget the scene in which Dustin Hoffman is tortured by with a dental drill. He says that he has watched the movie again since but the still cannot remember much about it apart from that one scene. He also says that he has always remembered the way that clove oil has the power to soothe dental pain and has since used it himself.

This got us on to the subject of teeth in other films and the classic “Jaws” both the original film with the shark and the James Bond movie with the metal mouthed villain. Now I have never seen the attraction of “Jaws” but will admit that it is a hundred times better than the subsequent sequels and spin-offs that it generated, especially the one where the shark follows the family to a different city and they say that “this time it is personal”! As you can guess, I gave up half way and didn’t even try to see any of the others.

There are so many great movies around and so many scenes that are memorable for one reason or another. Some have special memories attached to them, like whom you were with when you watched it, and others bring back the feelings that you felt in your childhood. Some scenes can transport you instantly to the place you were when you first watched that movie and some can still make you laugh or cry even thirty years down the road.

There are those scenes which have become famous for some reason, either because of notoriety or infamy or because it is so funny and good that it has been accepted as a classic. Then there are those scenes from movies which we are not allowed to forget due to the media churning them out with regularity or the ones that have been parodied and so we manage to always think both of the parody and the original scene. I find the best ones for me are those that bring back happy memories and have some kind of a positive link to my past, either to my childhood, to my schooldays, to my college and university days or the early days of courtship.

_Mobiles have altered our lives completely. They are accessible everywhere and everyone has a cell phone no matter what age group they belong from. They have unquestionably made things easier but it would not be wrong to say that in some cases they have just increased the workload. There is not one second of privacy which can be wearisome at times. The texting rage these days is also a blessing of the cell phone which allows everyone to stay in touch all the time without actually talking on the phone. It is less costly and prevents children and elders from spending time endlessly on the phone but it is also very annoying as it takes a person away from the people he/she is with to people who are miles away. This often annoys the people who are present in the company of that person. But it is unnecessary to say that without the endless facilities provided by a cell phone a man would not have been able to lead such an easy and organized life. If it has made life hectic it has also helped in achieving a lot.

Romantic SMSs are also the most fought after messages and are sent by loved ones to each other not only at specific occasions but also randomly to show the love and care felt by them. These messages are a way of telling the special ones in our life how much they are loved and how they are always on our minds. This has helped a lot as people are now more in tune with their emotions and can express them more freely than ever before. These messages are found everywhere on the net and most of them acutely describe one’s feelings hence helping him/her totally in informing the other side of what is in the heart.

Happy birthday SMS are one such type. Now instead of calling or posting a card people easily pick up their phones and sent a text message which can contain a very cute birthday wish, a picture or even an audio recording. These messages can be composed personally and can also be found on different sites on the internet. Happy birthday songs and customized messages are at rage these days and allow the user to express him/herself more fully to the other person.

Good morning SMS and Funny SMS are one of the most commonly used SMS. It is mostly used by people on daily bases and it does not ends on a simple good morning or funny SMSs, these SMS in fact is also contains at times a special message, a piece of advice, a proverb or quote, a picture etc. These are very famous among younger generation and are updated on the internet regularly to provide the users with fresh SMSs so that they don’t get bored reading the same old ones. People have totally come under this spell and are often seen chasing different SMSs.

_ The seasons do not seem to affect our lives as much as they did in ancient times but we like to see the changes that are brought by Mother Nature throughout the different times of the year. For instance, my favourite time of the year is autumn because even though I know that winter is just around the corner, with its bone-chilling temperatures and icy winds, I love to savour the hint of chill in the air and the glorious colours around. I love the crisp mornings with the occasional frost covering the ground first thing in the morning, the evenings which often bring the smell of wood fires as the gardeners finish the last of the work before the cold sets in, and best of all, the riot of colours on all the trees and bushes as the leaves change colour.

The gradual shading of the leaves from green to eventual brown, is accompanied by the whole gamut of colours ranging from plain red, russet, orange, yellow, purple and scarlet. Even the browns range from the boring to mahogany and chocolate. It is at this time of the year that my thoughts turn to warm fireplaces and the cosiness of my bed. In the summer I have to use blackout curtains on my bedroom windows because otherwise, the sunlight streams straight in and onto my bed at the most inconvenient times and forces me to have to wake up at stupid o’clock. In the winter, I find that same sunshine comforting and open my curtains at night so as to catch the morning sun.

I love to lie awake on my cheap memory foam mattress and pull my Hungarian goose down duvet up to my chin while I try to convince myself that I really do need to get up. I have always believed in having nice bedding and often hunt out a bed linen sale even out of season. I enjoy resting my head on Hungarian goose down pillows and my previous favourite was a Siberian goose down duvet.

The longer nights at this time of the year mean that I have the excuse of creeping into my bed a lot earlier than in the summer and snuggle up with a good book or even work brought home from the office. I have a pair of cute furry animal slippers which were a birthday present from a good friend and I practically live in them all through the winter and change into them as soon as I walk into the door. These slippers, along with a few woolly socks and a couple of fleecy pyjamas basically make up the bulk of my winter wardrobe when I am at home. at the office, I need to make more of an effort but even then, I find myself looking forward to getting home and snuggling into my Hungarian goose down duvet. Add this to a cup of hot chocolate and it feels wonderful and comforting.

_ While I have never been one for fanciful thoughts and wasting time on analysing things as elusive as dreams, I found myself doing just that last month. Ever since I was a child, I remember having very vivid dreams and would often up convinced that they were not dreams but had actually happened to me in real life.To this day I can remember certain dreams and still in clear detail. I can recall features and conversations and also how I had felt at the time. This is fine for the pleasant dreams but somehow does not hold the same appeal when I recall some of the unpleasant dreams and even nightmares that I also used to have.

In all these years I have never attached much importance to these dreams but then six months ago I started to have the same dream a couple of times in the week and eventually I decided that I need to talk to someone as the dreams became more frequent. The dream itself was quite mild and innocuous but the feelings that were left in my mind disturbed me. I kept on dreaming that no matter what the situation or setting, as I was talking, all my teeth fell out! This caused me no pain in the dream but on waking I could feel that I was firstly relieved that I had all my teeth, and secondly I remembered the feeling of panic and anxiety I experienced in the dream.

Thinking that my dream may be rooted in some type of dental problem, I mentioned it to my dentist on my next visit for a regular check-up. He is an intelligent man as well as being an excellent dentist who was not only offered two full dental scholarships to two of the bestschool for dentistry, but also gives talks at dental schools around the country. He is in the process of opening his own school of dental hygiene and his son has just entered his medical college admissions form, with every chance of being accepted at any medical college he chooses. After giving me the all clear on my teeth he discussed the dream with me and came up with an interesting theory.

He told me that dreaming of losing all your teeth was quite a common theme with a lot of people and that the main explanation for this was that it represented a fear of losing control. He said that the feeling of helplessness was caused by the inability to affect some part of your life and that this dream was especially prevalent during times of stress or emotional upheaval. This could be personal such as divorce or relationship problems with a family member, or work related tension which was building up and needed to be released. To my relief, he said the dreams should fade away once the root cause has been found and you have gained control of your emotions and the situation once again.

_ Laughter is the best medicine. It is necessary for human being to take time and laugh as it is good for the human brain to use some extra time in which it is not loaded with unnecessary workload and is not in regular thinking process. Psychologists have found that people who laugh more are likely to live a longer and healthier life than people who don’t laugh at all. Laughter helps in unburdening the body and mind from anxiety and reduces stress. It is also known that blood increases when one laughs. Due to the pressure on people in current times it is not something unusual that people have stopped laughing as often as they would like. The reason for that are the problems and struggles faced by people in their daily lives. It leaves them tired and irritated and so much time is consumed by their work lives that they have little time to do anything else. To ease this burden and allow people to smile or laugh more often, the specialists have come up with jokes. Jokes are those things which are told to amuse or make people laugh causing a little merriment in the person’s life. It can be about anything, be it a personal joke, a political one, sarcasm or either ironical. Anything that causes a person to laugh or smile is known as a joke. They help individual to bear the hardships with a light heart instead of getting intense and harming your own health. These days these jokes are being sent via text messages and are known as funny SMSs. Funny SMSs are one of the biggest reason to laugh in today’s tense life.

Due to the texting rage the networks have provided various packages which allow one to be in contact with the entire world. To increase the possibility of people actually availing these packages forward messages have been created which consist of quotes, jokes, wise words, cute messages etc. Some of the very common ones are the good morning SMS and good night SMS. These are sent by people to all their contacts or customized lists. These can be of different natures pertaining to what kind of relation you share with the person. Usually these are sent to people who are very close to the sender or share a meaningful relationship with him/her. These good night messages allow the sender to convey at times his feelings, special messages, quotes, endearments or a simple thought that the other person is remembered all the time. These messages strengthen the relationship and give a very nice vibe to the other person. It is important that the message is appropriate and does not carry words which will be disliked by the receiver. Plus the attitude of the receiver should also be kept in mind so that you don’t send him/her anything that annoys or irritates them. Text messages have no doubt made life a lot easier and at the same time have added a lot of difficulties in it.

_ I think that just about every one in the western world has heard about how Margaret Thatcher used to get by on only four hours of sleep a night and how she felt that that amount was sufficient for her to be alert and energetic every day. While some of us admired her for her claim, others felt that she was foolish and many people actually felt that she was lying about how many hours she managed to sleep. Although the truth is between her and her alarm clock, we need to admit that she certainly was vibrant and aware throughout the day.

When I was growing up, like most children, I would try to put off the moment that must go to bed for as long as I possibly could, by using excuses like extra homework, last minute hunger pangs and the inevitable thirst for another glass of water. Alas, it was all to no avail, since my mother saw through each of my carefully prepared statements and sent me off packing at the usual time. While I resented her firmness at the time, I now admit that she had a point when she claimed that an hour of sleep before midnight was worth two hours after midnight.

I find that the earlier I go bed, even if I have to get up earlier because I have had enough sleep, the more refreshed I feel, whereas when I go to bed after twelve o’clock (which to be honest is actually most of the time), I my sleep is disturbed and no matter how comfortable my cheap memory foam mattressand Hungarian goose down duvetis, I do not feel rested. I have tried to change my bed time so that I can manage to be asleep for eleven, but something always delays me and I find myself tossing and turning on my Hungarian goose down pillows for at least an hour. I know that it is just a matter of training and routine so that my internal body clock can adjust to a new sleep pattern but I never seem to be able to manage three early nights on the run.

I am very strict about my children’s bedtime and make sure that they go to bed at the times I deem appropriate for their ages. I realise that this is probably a result of my own bedtime regimen when I was a child but with age comes wisdom and I now tackle my kid’s excuses in the same way which my mother dealt with me. When my middle child was a baby she would have five minute power naps and then awake completely fresh, as though she had just slept for a couple of hours. I have tried to have power naps but find that I fall into deep sleep so quickly that I wake up groggy and in a worse mood than I was before I decided to try having a nap!
